Episode 3 Autonomous Republic of Zeon
Char Aznable
After crossing paths with Kycilia's assassins, he enrolls in the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's space defense military academy under a false identity. In U.C. 0077, as a third-year student, he plans an operation to disarm the Earth Federation's security forces and incites Garma, a son of the Zabi family, into carrying it out. This incident will later become known as the "Dawn Rebellion."


Garma Zabi
The fourth and youngest son of the Zabi family has become a handsome young man and an excellent student. He enrolls in the military academy and develops a rivalry with Char, who far surpasses everyone else in classwork and training exercises, but eventually comes to see him as a friend. The pressure of being born into the family that rules Side 3, as well as Char's instigation, spur Garma into leading the "Dawn Rebellion" that will become a turning point in history.


Lino Fernandez
A young man who enrolls in the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's space defense military academy. He comes from Side 5, or Loum, and was a friend of Roger Aznable's son Char when they both attended Loum's high school. As a result, he is suspicious of Char's background and investigates his true identity. He participates alongside Char in the "Dawn Rebellion."



Sayla Mass
Zeon Zum Deikun's daughter Artesia. To conceal her identity, she became the adopted daughter of Teabolo Mass. She is unaware that her brother Casval is still alive, having changed places with Roger's son Char. Aspiring to become a doctor, Sayla spends her time studying, away from Texas Colony.



Dozle Zabi
A colonel in the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's Space Defense Force. Anticipating a war of independence against the Earth Federation, he is spearheading the development of innovative humanoid mobile weapons at the Dark Colony. Meanwhile, he also serves as superintendent of the Republic's military academy. During the "Dawn Rebellion" that Garma leads while enrolled in the academy, Dozle meets the woman who will later become his wife.

Zenna Mia
A young woman enrolled in the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's Space Defense Military Academy. Originally from Side 4, or Moore, she is a classmate of Char and Garma. During the "Dawn Rebellion," Char asks her to divert their superintendent, Dozle. The resulting meeting will later have a huge effect on the course of her life.


Gihren Zabi
The eldest son of the Zabi family, who serves concurrently as director of the National Campaign Department and the Political Department. As he plans for independence from the Earth Federation and prepares for the outbreak of war, he decides to cancel the new mobile weapon that Dozle is developing, which is behind schedule. However, after hearing Dr. Minovsky's proposal, he orders the continuation of the project.
Degwin Sodo Zabi
The patriarch of the Zabi family, and the chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's Diet. In order to achieve the Spacenoid supremacy advocated by Zeon Zum Deikun, he entrusts Gihren and his other children with preparations for a war that will win them complete independence from the Earth Federation.
Kycilia Zabi
The commander of the Autonomous Republic of Zeon's Special Service. This organization performs bodyguard duties, protecting her father Chairman Degwin and other national leaders, and also serves as an intelligence agency. Kycilia secretly orders the bombing of a passenger spaceship in order to eliminate Deikun's heir Casval, who is attempting to return to Side 3.



Torenov Y Minovsky
The discoverer of the Minovsky particle, and a pioneer of Minovsky physics. When he miniaturizes the power reactor of the mobile worker that Dozle is developing, he achieves a breakthrough via the technological application of Minovsky particles.

Amuro Ray
The son of Tem Ray, who is supervising the technical side of the Earth Federation Forces' new mobile weapon development. Leaving his mother behind on Earth, he came up to space and has been moving from one space colony to another depending on his father's work. Tem's next posting is to Side 7.
